- Hawa
Mahal
Constructed in 1799, Hawa Mahal is the most
sensational monument in the city of Jaipur. The palace,
overlooks one of Jaipur's main streets and was originally
constructed to offer women of the court an upper hand, so that
they can watch the activities taking place in the bazaar and the
surrounding streets behind stone-carved screens.
- Jaisalmer
Fort
Deep in the heart of the Thar Desert is
Jaisalmer, one of the last princely bastions in the region.
Founded on what was the cross - road of lucrative trade routes,
this remote settlement came to be celebrated for the valour of
its rulers, and for the aesthetic sense represented by their
palaces and havelis.
- Junagarh
Fort
Jungadh Fort is located in Bikaner. One of
the most imposing forts of Northern India and one of the finest
of Rajput monuments. Raja Rai Singh, Akbar's contemporary
started building Junagadh Fort in 1587. Often attacked, Junagadh
is one of the few forts in India, which was never conquered. It
consists of 37 palaces, pavilions and temples built by different
Kings stand protected by massive ramparts and round towers.
- City
Palace, Jaipur
In the heart of the old city, the
City Palace occupies a large area divided into a series of
courtyards, gardens and buildings. The outer wall was built by
Sawai Jai Singh, but other additions are more recent, some
dating to the start of the 20th century. The palace is a blend
of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The son of the last
Maharaja and his family still live in part of the palace.
- City
Palace, Udaipur
City Palace towers over the
Pichola Lake. Maharana Uday Singh initiated in the construction
of the palace but succeeding Maharanas added several palaces and
structures to the complex retained a surprising uniformity to
the design. The entry to the Palace is from the Hati Pol, the
Elephant gate. The Bari Pol or the Big gate brings you to the
Tripolia, the Triple gate.
- Lalgarh
Palace, Bikaner
Situated 3km north of the city
center this palace which built by Maharaja Ganga Singh in the
memory of his father, Maharaja Lal Singh The Shri Sadul museum
covers entire first floor of the palace. The museum was
established in 1076 and there's a reasonable collection of
artifacts and personal possessions of the Bikaner Maharajas and
a brass vessel known as a Tokan used to collect revenue which
was transported by camel to the Bikaner state treasury.
- Meharangarh
Fort
Meharangarh Fort is balanced on a 150 m high
hill its sprawl is the most formidable and magnificent fort in
Rajasthan. Rao Jodha founded the fort but subsequent rulers of
Jodhpur have also added to it over the centuries. A meandering
road leads to the from the city 5 kms below.
- Amber
Fort
Amber fort and palace are the must-visit
monuments on your tour to Jaipur. Some of the monuments inside
the fort that are worth visiting are Sheesh Mahal, Jai Mandir,
Diwan-e-Aam, Kali Temple, Diwan-e-Khas and Diwan-e-Aam. Tourism

- Chittorgarh
Fort
Also called Chittaur, Chittorgarh, from the
7th century to the 16th, was the capital of Mewar under the
Rajputs. Chittaur evokes memories of great heroism and sacrifice
by Rajput men and women in the intermittent battles that they
had to fight against invaders from Northwest or Delhi. Chittaur
witnessed both the ravages of war and the triumphs of the
spirit.
